We are a friendly and relaxed art group who, on three weeks out of four, meet at Bourne Hall on Wednesday evenings, 7.30-9.30pm for a mixture of high quality demonstrations, lectures, life drawing and workshops.

Our summer exhibition runs from Monday 20 July to Sunday 2 August – we hope to see you there.

Monthly challenge
The winner of June’s challenge is Sophie Knight-Crow with her painting Sundae Treat. Peter Rossington is in 2nd place, and Rob Bailey & Malcolm Beakhust are in joint 3rd place. Many congratulations to all. The names of the artists are now revealed on June’s monthly challenge page.
July’s subject is Insects, and the deadline for entries is 10pm, Friday 31 July.
Please email a jpg of your entry to Barbara Stevens (subject Monthly challenge) and let her know the title of your picture and the medium. Please follow the guidelines for creating a .jpg on the Resources page. Barbara is happy to resize/rename files if anyone has any problems.
Copyright rules for the challenge and for our exhibitions (click to read)
- Please be careful not to breach copyright rules when using other people’s photographs.
- For our competitions (and our exhibitions) present your own work, not copies of other artist’s work.
Basing a painting closely on a photographic image is acceptable assuming point 1 above is satisfied. Copying another artist’s style is acceptable, but copying a whole painting is not.
