Denbies exhibition, 16th to 29th August

The stewarding rota is available on the Noticeboard. If you intend to exhibit at Denbies, please contact Ingeborg to let her know when you are able to steward. You will need to put your name down for two slots.

Painting critique

Now that we have zoom appraisals, the Painting critique page has been archived. Thank you to everyone who contributed to it. The paintings and feedback can still be viewed from the Resources page.

Monthly challenge

The winner of May’s challenge is Gina Grimwood with her oil painting Mare and foal. In second place is Margaret Eggleton, and in joint third place are Colin Garrod and Gillian Hein. Many congratulations to all. The names of the artists are now revealed on May’s monthly challenge page.

Not only did Gina win the monthly challenge, but she also correctly identified the highest number of artists – 13, Louise identified 11 and Richard identified 7 – well done all!

June’s subject is an Urban landscape, and the deadline for entries is 10pm, Wednesday 30 June.

Please email a jpg of your entry to Barbara Stevens (subject Monthly challenge) and let her know the title of your picture and the medium. Please follow the guidelines for creating a .jpg on the Resources page.  Barbara is happy to resize/rename files if anyone has any problems.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Dave Tribe who has an article entitled The negative side of primaries published in the May issue of SAA’s Paint magazine.

Many congratulations to Gina Grimwood who has won the Jem Bowden watercolour painting competition in the Leisure Painter. Her picture is printed in last month’s issue.

Workshop paintings

We’ve had some great zoom workshops recently – do take a look at some of the pictures that our members have painted.

We are a friendly Art group based in Epsom & Ewell, Surrey and, under normal circumstances, we meet at Bourne Hall, Ewell Village on most Wednesday evenings.  Please look at the Programme page for details of our meetings.

Guests are welcome at £5 per session.  If you would like to join the group or find out more about our activities, please go to the Contact us page.
