I started watercolour painting some 45 years ago after being captivated by a painting by Rowland Hilder. I taught myself initially, then did evening classes with Jean Canter for 6 years. Since then I’ve attended numerous classes and workshops in watercolour, acrylics, inks and mixed media.
More recently, I’ve been painting with water-mixable oils and this was my chosen medium when I completed Ian Roberts’ three-part Mastering Composition Course in 2023. I also enjoy zoom workshops with watercolourist Tom Shepherd.
Watercolours and oils are my favourite mediums, although I enjoy painting animals (often my cats) in acrylic on sterling board.
I’ve been a member of the Epsom & Ewell Art Group since 2002.
