I was born in London and have lived in Surrey since 1967 and have been showing my oil paintings with local Art Societies since the early 1970’s. I studied oil painting in this country and Italy and have developed my own style, depicting my love of the English countryside. In particular, my paintings concentrate on landscapes with hedgerows and wild flowers in their natural habitat.
I regard myself as very fortunate to live near the North Downs, which have been a constant source of inspiration and the subject of many of my paintings.
I joined the Society of Women Artists in 1994 and became a member of the Society of Botanical Artists in 1999. Locally I have been a longstanding member of the Epsom and Ewell Art group, Croydon Art Society and Ashtead Art Group. I have won many Awards for my works, some of which were selected by the Medici Society for greeting cards, and by others for prints and covers for CDs and tapes. My work has been shown in London (Mall Galleries and Westminster Gallery) and several of my paintings have been acquired for clients in Japan, America, Canada and South Africa.
